The Transfer Receiving Unit (TRU) at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center is a pioneering initiative—the first of its kind within the Legacy Health system—designed to transform how patient transfers are managed across the region. Launched as a dedicated six-bed unit with plans to expand to 17 beds, TRU plays a critical role in enhancing equitable access to inpatient care. With a streamlined “swarm” model and a laser focus on clinical intake, TRU ensures that patients are safely transferred to their final inpatient destination within 12 hours of arrival, setting a new standard for efficiency and patient experience.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-impact unit that sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, operational innovation, and strategic growth. As the TRU Manager, you’ll guide a dynamic team through ongoing expansion phases, collaborate across nursing, IT, patient placement, and resource pool teams, and shape the future of transfer care delivery. If you're passionate about improving access, driving performance, and leading with purpose, TRU offers a platform to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and the broader healthcare system.
