About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center: Located in vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is known for its cutting-edge care and specialty programs, including cancer care, neurology, kidney transplantation, and more. We also offer Oregon’s only 24-hour urgent care center, ensuring seamless care day or night.

 

About IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit): The IMCU is a 22-bed unit providing care for cardiac patients, strokes, kidney transplants, thoracotomies, and home ventilators. With an average census of 16 patients, we offer advanced care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

 

Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN): As a key member of our team, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care, working with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. You’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, compassionate patient care while adhering to Legacy Health’s high standards for patient assessment, care delivery, and transfer.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
  • Advocate for patients by offering education and emotional support, helping them navigate their health journeys.
  • Leverage cutting-edge electronic health systems to accurately document patient information and provide seamless care.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

 

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
  • For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Experience:

  • At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
  • Additional clinical experience may be required, depending on the department.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference.

Licensure

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA).

  • 1:3 RN to patient ratio for direct care.
