The Clinical Nurse Educator works in collaboration with unit leadership and Legacy Health Clinical Practice Support educational support structure to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education, staff development activities and quality initiatives in the specialty unit or program area assigned. Activities include planning and coordinating unit-based educational activities, participation in design and implementation of the LH clinical processes; competency assessment and education of nursing staff; assessment of staff learning needs; and assisting with leading quality initiatives. Other activities will be defined by the unit leadership.
Education:
Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required.
Experience:
Two years of relevant clinical experience at proficient to expert level of practice required. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles as evidenced by the ability to facilitate learning for patients/families, nursing staff or other members of the healthcare team.
Family Birth Center/OB experience required.
Knowledge/Skills:
Highly effective teaching and communication skills.
Understands and applies adult learning principles.
Strong meeting facilitation and group process skills.
Ability to work effectively in teams, and independently.
Knowledge of Lean and quality improvement principles; ability to apply Lean and quality improvement process.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and leadership to implement change.
