  • Overview

    The primary function of this job is to be available and flexible to float to various sites throughout Legacy Health System including Silverton Medical Center, and provide patient care. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.

     

    This Resource Pool position will be supporting Family Birth / Labor & Delivery units at Legacy Health. The nursing staff of the Family Birth Centers, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, strive to:

     

    a. Collaborate with the patient, and/or SO/family to develop specific goals that meet the individual’s needs, promote optimal
    outcomes, and prepare the patient for discharge from hospital.
    b. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care. The multidisciplinary team includes, but is not limited to:
    L.I.P.s, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, clinical resource
    coordinators, chaplains and other ancillary personnel, as needed, to work toward common identified patient care goals.
    c. Support patient and family experiencing loss.
    d. Promote cohesive teamwork and efficient, effective communication between health care team members.

    e. Achieve appropriate use of resources to enhance desired patient outcomes while managing patient care costs.
    f. Provide opportunities for professional growth and development, recognition and personal satisfaction.
    g. Participate in a shared governance model to address unit specific issues and needs.

    The RN Resource Team assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health including those for patient assessment and transfer. 

     

    This job is paid at a flat rate plus appropriate differentials while working.

    Hire on bonus and relocation assistance provided for applicants who qualify.

    Candidate must be willing to float to all Legacy Medical Centers including Silverton Medical Center, our center in Silverton, OR. 

     

    Qualifications

    Education:   As required by licensure.  BSN preferred.

     

    Experience:  Three years registered nursing experience required.

     

    Three years recent labor and delivery experience, including one year high risk labor & delivery/antepartum experience, strongly preferred; 3 years perinatal experience (with 6 months Neonatal Resuscitation specialist experience) strongly preferred. ACLS and NRP required.  OB-ACLS required when due for recertification.  STABLE required within 6 months of hire.

     

    Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.

     

    Knowledge/Skills:  Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.  Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
